Come join the school newspaper!

The Union Street Journal is Ashland's finest publication, championing an era of freedom, and other stuff that sounds good. The newspaper is pretty relaxed, meeting twice a month, in Ms.Jankowski's room discussing the articles for the next publication, how to improve the newsletter and how to expand and make people care about the newsletter.

FUN AND ENJOYABLE

Writing for the newspaper can be a really fun experience that have so many things one can learn from. Articles can be short and humorous, or something you are really passionate about and interested in! The newsletter club creates a creative outlet for a students tired of constantly writing essays. Bring your friends and make it even more fun!

Improves Writing Skills!

Joining the newsletter club is a great way to improve writing skills such as rhetoric, flow, and grammar. After writing an article, students can have their articles edited by the editor-in-chief and teachers. Writing articles for the school newspaper gives students practice in journalism and creative writing skills.

Great for Applications!

If you're interested in the humanities or politics, the newspaper club will look great on college applications! Even if you are not interested in english or history, student journalism is still an amazing club to put down on applications for everything, from National Honor Society to university applications. Useful and fun!

Flexible and Easy.

If you're a busy person, the newspaper can be flexible and free to work with anyone with schedule conflicts or a hectic schedule! With meetings and articles only once a month, everybody has free time to do a lot of other things too! Of course, students who give 100% are welcome too.
